Questions Raised After DP Gachagua Missed Ruto’s 2 Key Events, Insider Reveals His Plans in Mathira

Hours before several politicians from the Mt Kenya region converge in Kiambu for the LImuru III meeting, questions have risen on the current state of relationship between President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua.

This was after allegations emerged that the DP could be secretly funding the Limuru Three meeting behind the doors.

CS Moses Kuria, who had been on bad terms with the DP, emerged with the claims, saying he had been warned against attending the meeting as the ‘sponsor’ was more likely to back off.

According to Kuria, the organizers led by former MP Jeremiah Kioni had been warned by the ‘sponsor’ against inviting Kuria to the meeting.

And on Friday, reports by KTN News revealed that the DP had conspicuously missed two of President William Ruto’s key events in the country recently.

According to the station, Rigathi first missed out on National Three Planting day led by Ruto on Friday last week, and was also missing from a recent State House meeting, where Ruto was swearing in High Court Judges.

It was further revealed that the DP had retreated back to his Mathira home in Nyeri to strategize his political relevance in the Mt Kenya region.

“The DP’s absence at two significant state functions hasn’t go unnoticed. Sources revealed that he retreated to his rural home in Mathira Nyeri county for strategic political consultations on maintaining his relevance in the region,” reported KTN News on Friday

The meeting has attracted mixed reactions, with a section of leaders from the region promising to attend while others, especially those allied to President William Ruo have turned it down.

“Hawa wenye wanazaunguka wakisema Limuu three tunawaambia ni wakati wa kazi sio siasa,” stated Governor Waiguru on her part

It was reported that the meeting will be used to strategize on the direction that the region could take politically and will also be used by the Azimio leaders from the region to announce their plans away from Raila’s camp.
