Director of National Intelligence, Noordin Haji, reported oversees three covert detention facilities in Nairobi where abductees are reportedly held without trial, this is according to controversial activist Francis Gaitho.
According to a post on X by Francis Gaitho, these sites are located in Garden Estate, Peponi Road, and Mwihoko near the military barracks.
Blogger Bernard Kavuli disclosed in an interview that he was detained in one such facility, where he counted at least 30 other individuals also held against their will.
The operations are said to be carried out by a team of Administration Police officers acting off the grid.
Gaitho further revealed, that these officers receive direct instructions from President William Ruto.
The grim reality of these detention sites is further highlighted by reports of bodies mysteriously appearing in locations such as Juja quarries and Ruiru.
For instance, Denzel Omondi’s body, found in such circumstances, is alleged to be one of the victims detained at the Mwihoko site.
Reports also suggest that detainees who suffer severe injuries during interrogation are killed, and their bodies disposed of in corrosive acid to erase evidence.
The names of the officers involved in these activities remain under investigation.
This clandestine network, as alleged by Gaitho, serves the interests of a powerful elite group of Somali oligarchs with massive influence in the import and real estate sectors.
These oligarchs are accused of using such operations to consolidate their dominance and suppress dissent.
The situation has raised concerns among Kenyans, with calls for immediate action to counter the alleged abuses.
One suggested measure according to Francis Gaitho is boycotting businesses in Eastleigh and avoiding purchasing properties owned by Somali developers working with Chinese contractors.
These actions, it is argued, could reduce financial support for what is described as an infrastructure enabling abductions, disappearances, and extrajudicial killings.
For families searching for missing loved ones, it is advised to approach the National Intelligence Service (NIS) headquarters near Thika Road in the Survey area.
“Although Noordin Haji is reportedly the face of these operations, the ultimate decision on the fate of detainees is said to rest with President William Ruto”. Gaitho stated.
Francis Gaitho revealed that Noordin Haji allegedly paid a huge sum, reportedly 1 billion Kenyan shillings, to secure his position, making him virtually untouchable.
These allegations have sparked outrage among Kenyans who feel trapped in a system that prioritizes the interests of a few over justice and human rights.
There is an urgent need for accountability and transparency to address the allegations of abductions and extrajudicial practices.
