Anwar Saddat exposes SHA theft linking Aden Duale and President Ruto’s silence

Anwar Saddat has been firm in exposing how the Social Health Authority is sinking into the same old corruption that Kenyans thought they had left behind with NHIF.

He has revealed shocking evidence of ghost hospitals and fake clinics receiving millions of shillings while ordinary citizens are left without medicine or treatment.

His biggest question has been why Aden Duale, the Cabinet Secretary for Health, continues to stand before Kenyans as a moral leader while he is at the heart of a system that is openly stealing from the sick.

The promises that came with the launch of SHA painted a picture of hope. Kenyans were assured that the mistakes of NHIF would never be repeated.

Yet in just a short period, the rot has become worse than before. The Auditor General has already flagged more than 100 billion shillings as missing or spent under suspicious circumstances.

In Mandera, locals say they have never seen Jabii Nursing Home, yet on paper it received over 5 million shillings.

Real facilities like Kandiege Sub-County Hospital may appear in the books, but most of the money meant for them vanishes long before patients benefit.

These are not small errors but proof of a system carefully built to steal from taxpayers.

Duale has tried to position himself as a reformer by suspending certain facilities accused of fraud, but critics insist this is only for show.

Deeper investigations point directly to him and those close to him. His brother owns Medina hospitals and pharmacies, which have grown fast in the very regions where SHA money flows.

Ladnan Hospital, linked to the SHA chairman and connected to Duale’s network, reportedly received 52 million shillings in less than a month. Instead of dismantling corruption, Duale seems to be ensuring that public funds remain within his own circle.

This is also not the first time Duale’s name has been linked to scandals. During his tenure at the Ministry of Defense, he faced accusations of moving expired drugs using military resources for his brother’s business.

His name was also dragged into questionable land deals and smuggling claims. Later at the Ministry of Environment, he was blamed for irregularities tied to the billion-tree project.

Now at Health, the same script continues billions vanish while Kenyans are told to sacrifice more. What makes matters worse is President William Ruto’s silence.

Instead of demanding accountability, he continues to praise Duale for surface-level actions. Yet ordinary Kenyans continue paying SHA deductions, only to find themselves charged again at hospitals or forced to go home without medicine.

Saddat and other whistleblowers argue that this silence proves the theft is sanctioned at the highest levels, with Duale and his allies collecting not only for themselves but also for the President.

If this continues unchecked, SHA will collapse just like NHIF before it.

The cost is not only financial but human patients are dying as leaders grow richer. Health funds are not just about numbers; they are about life.

Duale should not be celebrated as a reformer but held responsible for presiding over a system that robs the weak and rewards the powerful.
