Homa Bay County police officers have detained seven people in connection with the death of a fourth-year Tom Mboya University student.
The seven were arrested on Friday, December 21, when local police officers discovered the student battered, naked, and tied up inside a restaurant.
According to a police report, the student was found bound with ropes around his hands and legs, with several injuries to his head allegedly caused by the beating he endured.
According to the authorities, they discovered the student’s hands bound to a metal bar and bleeding profusely, indicating the level of torture the learner had endured at the hands of his attackers.
The youngster died from injuries while being treated at Homa Bay County Referral Hospital, only moments after being brought there.
His death prompted officers to arrest seven employees at the nearby institution, whom they believe were engaged in the incident.
Following the student’s death, the body was transported to the hospital mortuary for a post-mortem.
Meanwhile, the seven suspects will stay in detention as investigations continue.
