“You Cannot Do Everything, Get A Team” Sabina Chege Tells President William Ruto

Sabina Chege, a nominated Member of Parliament, has criticised President William Ruto for “doing everything” rather than delegating duties.

Chege said that Ruto, president, “seems to be doing everything; the one making decisions, the one going to the ground to launch projects, and the one convincing people.”

“He needs a team,” the nominated MP told Spice FM in an interview on Thursday, comparing the Head of State to being in the kitchen “cooking, serving, washing dishes, and also advising himself.”

“He needs people who can work for him. Let the Cabinet Secretaries go and launch those projects, and let the Principal Secretaries do the feasibility studies,” Chege said.

She specifically criticized Ruto’s trips across the country to launch initiatives, claiming that such trips should only be reserved for Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries.

Instead, the former Murang’a Woman Representative contended that Ruto should “focus on higher-level responsibilities” such as chairing the Cabinet.

She advised the President to “take some time off,” warning that if he continues with his hectic schedule, “at some point he will break down and make some bad decisions because of stress.”

“He is human, not a machine and can’t handle everything,” she said.

Chege also advised Ruto to appoint a team that has “a touch on the ground” and understands what Kenyans expect from the current administration, rather than just those with “theory and studies.”
