Kilimani residents were shaken last week by a violent incident involving a prominent politician and a woman who was attacked in a short-stay rental apartment.
The politician, who is identified as a member of the 13th Parliament, has emerged as a person of interest in the ongoing investigation.
According to the victim, who has reported the incident to the Kilimani Police Station, the events unfolded after an evening out.
The woman, who had been invited by the politician to a local entertainment venue, ended up at a short-stay rental apartment in Kilimani with the politician and two other women.
Tensions escalated rapidly, leading to a violent altercation between the victim and the two women she was with. In a harrowing account, the victim described how she was attacked with knives.
“They were picking forks and knives from the kitchen and attacking me as I tried to defend myself,” she recounted. “One of them took a knife and stabbed me on this side.”
The victim’s desperate cries for help were heard by security guards at the apartment, who promptly intervened and called the police.
The woman, who was found unconscious at the scene, later spoke with Citizen TV from her hospital bed. She detailed the severity of her injuries: “The stab wound was so deep and it was at the lower left abdomen.”
Kilimani Police Commander Kobia Bariu confirmed that investigations are underway.
“The stab wound was so deep and it was at the lower left abdomen. Investigations are on and we will get a true picture of what happened,” Bariu stated.
The politician involved has already given his statement to the police, and one of the women implicated in the stabbing has been arrested.
