Revealed: The Final Pleas of Late Reggae MC Njambi Koikai to President Ruto and Ali Hassan Joho Emerge

The beloved reggae MC Njambi Koikai, also known as Faya Mumah, made heartfelt appeals to President William Ruto and former Mombasa county governor Ali Hassan Joho.

These requests, filled with urgency and hope, highlighted her desperate need for financial assistance to cover mounting medical bills and therapy charges as she continued her prolonged battle with endometriosis.

According to a report by Kenyans.co.ke, Koikai reached out to President Ruto through a social media post, imploring him for support.

In her message, she acknowledged the President’s state visit to the United States, particularly focusing on health investments.

“This is a sincere and heartfelt call of help to a few Kenyan leaders but allow me to address this to President William Ruto first as he makes his state visit to the US. Mr. President, one of the thematic areas of your visit is investment in health,” she wrote, expressing her dire need for assistance in managing her substantial medical expenses.

In addition to her plea to President Ruto, Koikai also reached out to former Mombasa county governor Ali Hassan Joho, requesting his help in settling a hospital bill that had reached approximately Ksh 2.4 million.

Her appeals were not just about the financial burden but also a testament to the dire state of healthcare accessibility for many Kenyans dealing with chronic illnesses.

Njambi Koikai’s struggle with endometriosis began at the young age of 13. Her condition required extensive medical attention and led to numerous hospitalizations over the years.

Tragically, she passed away on Monday night while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital. Her passing not only marked the end of her courageous battle but also underscored the continuous struggles faced by many patients with chronic illnesses in Kenya.

Just days before her death, Koikai made another public appeal, this time for blood donations.

Through her social media accounts, she reached out to her followers, asking for blood donors to come forward.

“Hi fam, I am currently admitted at Pioneer Ward Nairobi Hospital and I kindly require blood O positive.

Kindly asking for a blood donor for Mary Njambi Koikai,” she posted on her X (formerly Twitter) handle.

This final plea highlighted the critical and ongoing medical needs she faced until the very end.

The news of Koikai’s death has been met with an outpouring of grief from fans, friends, and fellow artists. Her contributions to the reggae music scene and her activism for better healthcare for endometriosis patients have left an indelible mark.

Her story serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of accessible healthcare and the ongoing need for support for those battling chronic illnesses.

In memory of Njambi Koikai, her fans and supporters continue to advocate for better healthcare services and support for those suffering from similar conditions.

Her legacy as a talented artist and a vocal advocate for health rights will continue to inspire many in the fight for better healthcare in Kenya.
