Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga has made a firm declaration regarding the relationship between President William Ruto and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, emphasizing the importance of unity within the leadership of Mount Kenya.
Speaking at a church service in Endarasha, Nyeri County, Governor Kahiga asserted that the leadership of the region would not allow a few individuals to sow discord between the two leaders.
Governor Kahiga highlighted the potential repercussions of any rift between President Ruto and Deputy Gachagua, stressing that such discord would not only be detrimental to Mount Kenya but to the entire country.
He expressed a strong commitment to preventing any attempts to humiliate Deputy Gachagua, emphasizing the community’s solidarity and support for their own.
Reflecting on past experiences, Governor Kahiga recalled instances where Deputy President Ruto faced disrespect and humiliation during the previous administration.
Despite this, Ruto remained steadfast in his support for the Mount Kenya community.
Governor Kahiga emphasized that history would not repeat itself, and they would stand firmly against any mistreatment of Deputy Gachagua.
Regarding the Limuru III meeting held on Friday, Governor Kahiga dismissed it as a gathering convened and attended by self-seekers, implying that it did not represent the true interests of the region.
This assertion further underscores Governor Kahiga’s commitment to ensuring that the leadership of Mount Kenya remains united and focused on serving the interests of its constituents.
