Concerned citizen exposes Rangwe MP’s vulgar response after criticizing her public remarks

With less than two years remaining before the 2027 General Election, Kenyans expected their leaders to start behaving more responsibly. Many voters assumed that elected leaders would begin listening more carefully to the public, act respectfully in public spaces, and avoid doing anything that could damage their reputation.

However, the actions of Rangwe MP Dr. Lilian Gogo are causing serious concern among citizens, especially after an embarrassing and vulgar exchange that has now been made public.

Instead of showing maturity and accountability, the MP’s response to a concerned voter has shocked many Kenyans and raised serious questions about how far our leaders have drifted from the standards expected in public office.

According to a voter who reached out to her through WhatsApp, he was disturbed by remarks she made during a speech in Migori where she referenced the President’s private parts in an inappropriate political statement.

He decided to write to her directly, politely criticizing her for her choice of words and reminding her that such public comments not only shame the Luo community but also taint the ODM party that she represents.

However, the response he received from the MP was not what anyone would expect from a national leader.

Instead of apologizing or explaining herself, Dr. Gogo sent back messages filled with sexual insults, crude jokes, and immature taunts, including a shocking suggestion that the man prove his circumcision status in a nude encounter with her.

This kind of language and behaviour from an elected official is both disgraceful and alarming. The voter, stunned by the response, took screenshots of the messages and shared them, asking how such a person could continue to hold public office.

To confirm the credibility of the exchange, the publication used caller identification tools like Truecaller to verify the number.

The number was indeed registered under the name of Hon. Lilian Gogo, making it highly likely that the vulgar messages came from the MP herself.

The messages have now raised public outrage, with many Kenyans expressing disbelief that a sitting MP could descend to such levels of indecency.

The issue is not just about personal insult. It reflects something more worrying a collapse in the basic standards of leadership and a disregard for voters who expect maturity, respect, and accountability from their representatives.

While this may seem like another incident in Kenya’s long list of political scandals, it is different in its tone and raw vulgarity. If confirmed and left unpunished, it may further encourage a culture of arrogance and impunity among public servants.

Now, the people of Rangwe and ODM supporters at large must decide whether they will continue tolerating this kind of leadership or take a firm stand when they next head to the ballot.

The time for laughter and shock should end, and a serious conversation must begin about the quality of those trusted to lead.
