He announced his return via social media, a move the council found unacceptable as it contradicted their directives.

The council insisted that Kiama’s actions were unprocedural and demanded that he resume his leave until his accrued days were fully exhausted.

The power struggle at UoN reflects broader governance issues within the institution, with the council and the Vice Chancellor’s office often at odds.
