USA Government Clears The Air On Sponsoring Ruto’s Expensive Trip To USA For The 4-Day State Visit

United States government says it did not pay for the plane that took Kenya’s President William Ruto to America. A person who speaks for the U.S. embassy in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city, said this.

There were reports that the U.S. paid for the big jet that flew Ruto and his group to the U.S. for a visit.

But the embassy spokesperson says this is not true. The denial comes after questions were raised about who covered the costs for Ruto’s travel to meet with U.S. President Joe Biden and other American leaders.

Trips like this by heads of state can be very expensive. When presidents or prime ministers visit other countries, it is common for the host nation to assist with some expenses as a courtesy.

But the U.S. says it did not provide that courtesy of paying for Ruto’s plane in this case. The embassy person said the Kenyan government was responsible for arranging and funding transportation for the president’s delegation when traveling to the United States.

However, the U.S. likely did cover some other costs related to security and logistics during the visit.Ruto made the trip to Washington D.C. in late April. He met with Biden at the White House and also spoke at a conference.

The two leaders discussed issues like trade, security, climate change and more.Visits between the presidents of Kenya and the U.S. are relatively rare events. So Ruto’s trip received significant attention and media coverage in both nations.

That may be why there was confusion and claims about the travel costs. The spokesperson’s statement aimed to set the record straight that the U.S. did not pay for Ruto’s airplane specifically.

But the costs of major presidential trips are often not fully disclosed by governments.
