According to the report by Nation Africa, entrepreneur Jayesh Saini has faced a major setback after a French court dismissed his defamation case against Paris-based activist Nelson Amenya.
Saini had sued Amenya over a series of social media posts on platform X (formerly Twitter) that raised serious allegations about corruption during Kenya’s transition from the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) to the Social Health Authority (SHA).
Claiming the posts were defamatory, Saini sought damages, but the court found that Amenya’s posts were protected under laws on free speech because they addressed issues of public importance.
The ruling by Judge François Hary dealt a blow to Saini’s efforts to silence Amenya.
