President William Ruto has defended his 2022 election victory saying he was fairly elected by the people of Kenya.

Speaking during his three-day State visit in US, the Head of State said if the election of 2022 would have been rigged, ODM leader Raila Odinga could have won.Ruto said despite Raila receiving the support of deep state, they didn’t manage to manipulate the numbers in favour of Raila.”

If the deep state or system had decided the election, a different person would be standing before you today as the President of Kenya,” Ruto said.Ruto is now supporting Mr Odinga for the AUC post.

The Head of State and First Lady Rachel Ruto arrived at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta on Monday afternoon, kicking off a busy four-day visit to the United States.

This visit, the first by an African leader in 15 years, is expected to strengthen relations between Kenya and the United States while opening up new investment opportunities in in country.

Ruto went to US while there was political tension in the country where DP Gachagua seemed to be rattled.Despite his return to public duties, tensions remain high in his Nyeri backyard.

His allies continue to voice their concerns over his treatment. Karanja Maina, a Member of County Assembly, urged MPs to stand by the Deputy President more consistently: Before his appearance at the church fundraiser in Nyeri, Gachagua had been absent from public view, prompting questions about his relationship with the President.

Although he has now resumed his public duties, the discontent among his supporters in Nyeri persists, with ongoing calls for more recognition and support for his efforts.
