John Gaiti Muhoho in court for using Uhuru’s name to defraud MCA millions

A man was arraigned in court for allegedly defrauding Kiambu politician Elijah Njoroge of Sh4 million.

John Gaiti Muhoho was accused jointly with Samuel Wairegi Gathura and Patricia Wangui – but who were not in court – of pretending to be in a position to sell parcels of land at Juja Farm – thereby defrauding the Kiambu County Assembly Chief Whip of more than Sh4 million on September 2017 in Juja.

The suspects are accused of altering title documents, obtaining money on false pretence, forgery of land transfer documents, conspiracy to obtain money using false pretence and false registration of title deeds.

The court heard that the accused has been using the First Family’s name to defraud land buyers.

Njoroge who was to buy the three-acre of land at a cost of Sh7 million learnt he was being conned after paying a deposit of Sh4 million to one of the suspects.

Muhoho however denied the charges and was released on a Sh2 million bond and surety of similar amount.
