CCTV trail reveals disturbing movements of suspects before delivery rider’s death

The events surrounding the death of delivery rider Antony Otieno have left many people shocked, especially after CCTV footage revealed the final moments before his body was discovered hidden under a bed in a rental unit at Meridian Apartment in South B, Nairobi.

What began as a normal workday for him quickly turned into a disturbing sequence of events that investigators are now carefully piecing together.

Footage from the apartment building shows Otieno arriving on Tuesday, November 18, at 11:49 AM. He can be seen carrying a blue delivery bag believed to contain an iPhone 17 Pro Max that he was meant to deliver to a waiting client.

As he enters the building and heads to the elevator, he is on a phone call, possibly trying to confirm the exact location of the person who had placed the order. Everything appears normal at this point, but the situation shifts only minutes later.By 12:02 PM, the CCTV cameras capture unusual activity.

A man is seen leaving a room using the staircase while carrying the same blue bag Otieno had brought in. Soon after, another person rushes down the staircase, followed by a third man who appears half-naked and in a panic, clutching a package as he moves quickly out of sight.

The three individuals seem unsettled, and the footage even shows them hurriedly zipping the bag, raising questions about what had just happened inside the room.

A short while later, a Nissan Note, registration number KDL 336E, arrives at the entrance of the building. Two of the suspects get into the car with the bag.

Moments after this, a woman wearing a cape appears and is handed the luggage before the car drives away. This adds another layer of complexity to an already troubling picture.Investigators reviewing the footage then looked at earlier recordings from Monday, November 17. These clips show the same blue bag arriving at the apartment a day before the murder.

At 7:22 AM, one of the men is seen entering the building with the bag, accompanied by another man. By early afternoon, they are joined by a woman wearing the same clothes she is later seen in on the day Otieno was killed.

Later that evening at 6:00 PM, the woman is seen leaving with the same bag, suggesting it played a central role long before Otieno arrived.

The rental room where Otieno’s body was found belongs to Charity Muthoni Muchoki. She explained to investigators that she had received a call from someone claiming to want the room for a month.

She confirmed the booking and was expecting payment the next day. On Tuesday morning, at around 9:30 AM, she received a message from the guests saying they would pay by 4 PM.

When she visited the apartment earlier, one of the men told her to return later, which made her uneasy. Her suspicions grew when she saw the men rushing out with the blue bag.

When they failed to pay her as agreed, she took the bag, and this pushed her to check the room. After unlocking the door to the fourth-floor unit, she immediately saw bloodstains on the floor. Shocked and frightened, she called neighbors to help her inspect the room.

Together, they discovered a man’s body stuffed under the bed.The victim was later identified as Antony Otieno. His hands and feet had been tied with rope, and a cloth had been forced into his mouth.
