Nelson Amenya has continued to attract attention on X after launching a series of posts targeting Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino.
Known for his background in business and economics, Amenya has been sharing clips and stories from Babu’s days as a student leader at the University of Nairobi, portraying him as someone who maintained control through violence and intimidation.
In one of his posts, Amenya released a video showing Babu in an aggressive exchange, warning that this was a sign of the behavior that would later be seen in the DJ Evolve incident. He claimed that Babu’s pattern of aggression is a part of his nature and expressed concern that giving him more power, such as becoming Nairobi governor, could be dangerous.
According to Amenya, students who were at the university during Babu’s leadership witnessed how he used groups of loyal followers to silence opponents and stay in control.
This is not the first time Amenya has clashed with Babu. He has previously accused the MP of paying online influencers to attack him and defend his record.
Despite the backlash, Amenya has said he is not afraid, arguing that he only wants Kenyans to see the truth behind Babu’s polished image.
He often reminds his followers of Babu’s past, saying that leadership built on fear cannot be trusted. In one post, he shared an old news report about violent student politics, linking it directly to Babu’s time at the university. His message has remained consistent people should not forget the past when judging those seeking higher office.
Babu Owino, on the other hand, has not ignored the criticism entirely. While he rarely mentions Amenya directly, his supporters quickly defend him whenever the debates arise.
Babu has also denied similar accusations before, insisting that some of his critics were not even present during his time as student union president. He often presents himself as a reformed leader, a family man, and a professional who has matured from his student politics days.
Still, Amenya continues to question his integrity, sharing alleged inside stories about how Babu handled student elections and intimidated rivals.
The exchanges between the two have drawn mixed reactions online. Some users have sided with Amenya, recalling Babu’s past incidents and arguing that his leadership style is still aggressive. Others have accused Babu of running politics based on intimidation and bribery.
Amenya’s followers praise him for his courage, saying he has nothing personal to gain and is only speaking out for accountability. But Babu’s fans quickly hit back, questioning Amenya’s own credibility and accusing him of having been involved in questionable dealings himself.
