Governor Jonathan Bii of Uasin Gishu County has chosen Evans Kapkea, a Member of the County Assembly (MCA), to be his new deputy.
Kapkea currently serves as the MCA for Tembelio Ward and also holds an important role as the chairman of the Trade Committee in the Uasin Gishu County Assembly.
Evans Kapkea has a strong educational background.
He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Analytical Chemistry from Moi University, one of Kenya’s leading universities.
His education and experience in both politics and science show that he is well-prepared for the responsibilities that come with being a deputy governor.
The decision to nominate Kapkea comes after the resignation of the former Deputy Governor, John Barorot.
Barorot stepped down from his position, leaving the county without a deputy governor.
