“60 Protesters Will Been Arraigned To Court Today, We Will Be There To Secure Their Release” LSK President Faith Odhiambo Declares

The Central Police Station became a focal point of unrest this morning as LSK President Faith Odhiambo revealed that at least 60 individuals were detained overnight following yesterday’s widespread demonstrations.

The protests, sparked by various social and political grievances, have led to a heightened police response, resulting in mass arrests.

During her visit to the station, Odhiambo announced that all detainees would be arraigned at City Court later today.

“We have been informed that they will all be appearing in court, and we will be present to secure their release,” she stated.

Additionally, she confirmed that 25 individuals held at Kamukunji Police Station would be brought before Milimani Court.

The situation has prompted an urgent call to action from the LSK.

Odhiambo urged all volunteer advocates to converge at both Milimani and City courts to assist in securing the release of their fellow comrades.

“It’s crucial that we stand together during this challenging time,” she emphasized, reinforcing the importance of legal representation for those detained.

In a proactive measure, the LSK has dispatched additional teams to various police stations, including Kileleshwa, Gigiri, and Buruburu, where reports of more detained protesters have emerged.

Odhiambo urged the public to continue sharing information regarding the status of those arrested, highlighting the community’s role in ensuring no one remains unaccounted for.

The LSK remains steadfast in its commitment to protect the rights of individuals and advocate for justice.

The mobilization of legal advocates reflects a growing determination among activists to challenge state actions and ensure accountability in the face of civil unrest.

The public’s response and support will be crucial in the coming hours as the legal proceedings commence.
