‘Nothing Scares Me’ Former Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria Breaks Silence After President William Ruto Dissolved The Cabinet

Former Public Service Performance and Delivery Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has spoken out following President William Ruto’s unexpected decision to dissolve his entire cabinet.

During an interview on Kameme FM, Kuria exhibited his characteristic resilience and calm, stating that he is always prepared for any eventuality.

“Nothing scares me… I’m always ready,” the former CS remarked when asked how he received the news.

Kuria expressed confidence in the unfolding events, emphasizing that everything is under God’s control and assuring listeners that he is doing well.

In a light-hearted moment during the interview, Kuria joked about taking up a new role at the radio station, humorously suggesting he could work as a supplier of eggs, porridge, and tea.

This humor highlighted his adaptive nature and readiness to move forward despite the sudden change in his professional circumstances.

Kuria was one of the first of the 21 dismissed Cabinet members to update his social media bio to reflect his departure, demonstrating his quick acceptance of the situation.

His proactive response contrasts with the uncertainty that often follows such significant political upheavals.

On Thursday, President William Ruto announced the dissolution of his entire cabinet and the Attorney General, with Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, who also holds the Foreign and Diaspora Affairs portfolio, being the sole survivor of the purge.

President Ruto’s decision marks a significant shift in the administration, aimed at restructuring the government for improved efficiency and effectiveness.

In his address, President Ruto emphasized the importance of extensive consultations with various sectors to form a broad-based government.

“I will immediately engage in extensive consultations across different sectors and political formations to set up a broad-based government that will assist me in accelerating and expediting the necessary, urgent, and irreversible implementation of radical programmes to deal with the burden of debt, raise domestic resources, expand job opportunities, eliminate wastage and unnecessary duplication of a multiplicity of government agencies, and slay the dragon of corruption,” Ruto stated.

His vision includes making the government leaner, less expensive, more effective, and efficient.

The President assured the public that despite the cabinet dissolution, the operations of the government would continue uninterrupted under the guidance of Principal Secretaries and other relevant officials.

This move is seen as part of a broader strategy to streamline government functions and address critical national issues more robustly.

Kuria’s composed and forward-looking response exemplifies the resilience and adaptability often required in the tumultuous world of politics. As the nation awaits the announcement of the new cabinet, Kuria’s attitude sets a tone of readiness and optimism for the future.

The extensive consultations promised by President Ruto indicate a forthcoming period of significant political reorganization, with the aim of creating a more effective and responsive government.
