Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has vehemently refuted claims of contributing KSh 20 million to a church fundraising event, clarifying that the entire amount raised was indeed KSh 20 million.
Sudi’s remarks come amidst escalating accusations and a public spat with Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, who Sudi accuses of spreading misinformation about his financial contributions.
Addressing the allegations, Sudi was resolute in defending the source of his wealth, attributing it solely to decades of hard work and legitimate business ventures.
“To Khalwale, all my wealth has been through sheer hard work. But some rely on sorcerers for overnight riches,” Sudi stated, emphasizing his belief in the value of honest labor over speculative accusations.
The controversy erupted following widespread scrutiny of Sudi’s involvement in charitable events and the sources of his wealth.
“At no given point have I contributed KSh 20 million as alleged.
As a matter of fact, the amount in question was the entire cash raised in the said Harambee,” Sudi clarified, dismissing claims of extravagant donations.
Drawing from personal experience, Sudi recounted his journey from humble beginnings, starting work at the age of 14 by selling fruits.
“I have worked since I was 14 years old. Stop criticising me because KSh 20 million, that is too little,” he asserted, highlighting the disparity between perceptions of wealth and the reality of his financial history.
