Azimio MP Reveals Blueprint to Unseat Ruto in 2027, Offers Tips from Senegal President

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has expressed confidence that the opposition can defeat President William Ruto in the 2027 general election, provided there is proper planning and adequate resources.

Owino drew parallels between Kenya’s political landscape and recent electoral successes in Senegal, highlighting President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko as exemplary leaders.

He noted their struggles, including imprisonment, as key to their eventual triumphs.“Walitoka jela na wakashinda uchaguzi,” Owino remarked, emphasizing the need for resilience and determination to overcome formidable political challenges.

He believes that with similar strategic planning and commitment, the Azimio la Umoja coalition can secure victory in Kenya.A crucial aspect of Owino’s strategy involves mobilizing financial resources, particularly for election agents who play a vital role in ensuring vote protection.

“To win over Ruto in the 2027 elections, we just need the agents’ money,” he stated, underscoring the importance of funding in election campaigns.

Owino’s comments reflect a broader sentiment within the opposition that President Ruto, who once positioned himself as a reformist, has now become part of the political establishment he once opposed. “Ruto is a dynasty.

I know what it is to lack food, to sleep in a cell, and to have no cushion,” Owino said, drawing from his personal experiences to highlight his empathy with the struggles of ordinary Kenyans.

He argued that this shared understanding of hardship positions him and like-minded leaders as the true representatives of the people, contrasting them with the current administration, which he described as elitist.

Owino’s remarks underscore the opposition’s belief in their ability to connect with and mobilize the electorate through shared experiences and a commitment to change.

Owino’s optimism about the 2027 elections is rooted in a strategic vision that includes robust planning, resource mobilization, and a deep connection with the electorate’s challenges.

His comparison to Senegal’s political triumphs serves as both inspiration and a blueprint for the opposition’s path to potential victory.
