Have You Seen Her? DCI Issues Nationwide Appeal, Places Winsome Woman on Wanted List

Detectives at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kayole are urgently seeking public assistance in locating 35-year-old Mary Mwende Kimwalu, a key suspect in an attempted murder case that took place at Mihang’o Estate in Njiru, Kayole sub-county on April 22, 2023.

Mwende is accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend three times in the chest with a kitchen knife during a heated argument.

The brutal attack left the victim severely injured, and following the incident, Mwende disappeared without a trace.

She has since cut off all communication with family and friends, and has been avoiding her usual locations, making it difficult for authorities to track her down.

“In the case, Mary Mwende reportedly stabbed her ex-boyfriend three times on the chest using a kitchen knife, after a tiff that sundered their once dazzling love. After the heinous attack, she went underground, carefully effacing the track behind her,” read a post from the DCI.

The DCI has intensified the search for Mwende and is appealing to the public for any information that could lead to her arrest. The Immigration Department has confirmed that Mwende has not left the country, and a warrant for her arrest was issued on May 13, 2024.

According to the National Registration Bureau, Mwende is originally from Ikutha in Kitui Central, Kyoani sub-location.Mwende’s family has provided recent photos of her to aid in the search, and these have been circulated by the DCI.

The authorities are hopeful that public awareness will generate leads on her whereabouts.
