“Tafuta mtu mwingine wa kutisha. Vitisho vyako ni baridi na uwache ukabila,” MP Oscar Sudi tells Off DP Gachagua

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has urged Rift Valley leaders to stay out of Mount Kenya politics, arguing that the complexities of the region’s political landscape are beyond their understanding.

Speaking at a fundraising event for a women empowerment program in Kesses, Uasin Gishu, Gachagua accused certain leaders of attempting to influence the selection of future leaders in Mount Kenya.

Gachagua’s remarks were directed at a section of Rift Valley politicians whom he believes are overstepping their boundaries by meddling in Mount Kenya affairs.

He warned that their efforts to shape the region’s political future are futile, emphasizing the intricate nature of Mount Kenya’s politics.

The Deputy President advised these leaders to concentrate on their region’s politics instead.

Kapsaret Member of Parliament, Honorable Oscar Sudi, responded to Gachagua’s comments by calling on all Kenyan politicians to avoid divisive politics.

“You cannot control where I go. If we all stayed in our respective constituencies then we could not be in government. We had to fly all over the country to ask Kenyans to elect this government. I am not someone you can threaten. I have been threatened enough and this does not move me. You know I got this thing from Ruto. He passed it to me because now he is concentrating on national matters. So I have to continue doing this in any part of the country.” Sudi retorted.

Sudi stressed that Kenya belongs to all its citizens, irrespective of their political affiliations.

His appeal came a day after Gachagua’s initial remarks, highlighting the need for unity and collaborative efforts in the country’s political sphere.

Gachagua also addressed rumors of a rift between himself and President William Ruto, dismissing such claims and reaffirming his unwavering support for the President.

He emphasized that Rift Valley leaders should focus on aiding President Ruto in fulfilling his campaign promises, warning that constant politicking could undermine the President’s efforts and lead to failure.

Gachagua reiterated the commitment of Mount Kenya residents to support President Ruto for a full decade.

He underscored the importance of this promise, urging the people of Mount Kenya to remain steadfast in their backing of the President.

The Deputy President’s comments highlight ongoing tensions and the need for political leaders to prioritize the nation’s unity and development.

By advising Rift Valley leaders to refrain from interfering in Mount Kenya politics and encouraging a focus on local issues, Gachagua aims to foster a more cooperative and stable political environment.

As Kenya navigates its complex political landscape, the emphasis on unity and support for the President’s agenda remains crucial for the country’s progress and stability.
