Buyer accuses Furnsy Furnitures of supplying defective bed and ignoring reimbursement promises

A resident of Utawala has raised serious concerns after what she describes as a deeply disappointing experience with a local furniture company, Furnsy Furnitures and Furnsy Interiors, located along Kirawa Road in Gathiga.

The homeowner says she trusted the business to deliver quality furniture but was instead left frustrated, financially strained, and dealing with an unexpected pest problem in her home.

According to her, the issue began earlier this year when she ordered a bed and bedside tables from the company. She said the furniture was delivered but turned out to be poorly made and far below the expected standards.

The bed, in particular, was returned due to rough finishing and visible defects that made it unusable. To make matters worse, the customer later discovered that the bed had been made from untreated, insect-infested wood, which led to a much bigger problem inside her home.

The insects that came with the bed reportedly spread into her furniture and walls, causing damage that forced her to replace an entire section of her home at her own cost.

She says this was both financially and emotionally draining, as she had to deal with the inconvenience and expense of repairing damage caused by what should have been a simple purchase.

The woman further claims that the proprietor of the company, identified as Fred Mosioma, failed to reimburse her for the bedside tables as earlier promised.

Despite several follow-ups and assurances that compensation would be made, she has allegedly not received any refund to date. She says every attempt to get the issue resolved has been met with repeated promises that never translate into action, leaving her feeling ignored and cheated.

In a message she shared, she expressed disappointment over what she termed as dishonest practices by some furniture makers who take advantage of customers even after receiving full payment.

She added that the experience was not only stressful but also a clear safety risk, given that the untreated wood introduced pests into her home.

The situation, she said, could have been avoided if proper quality control and honesty were upheld in the business. Her story highlights the growing frustration among many Kenyans who struggle with unreliable service providers in the furniture industry.

As she seeks redress, she hopes her experience will serve as a warning to others to be cautious when making purchases and a reminder to business owners about the importance of accountability and professionalism in handling customers.
