Mohammed Ali, the Member of Parliament for Nyali, has made a powerful comeback to the political scene with a message that has caught the attention of Kenyans across the country.
After a nine-month break due to serious health problems, Ali shared a bold message saying, “When the Hour comes, it won’t be my Voice Alone, it will be the People’s Roar they ignored for years.
The Ground Beneath Me is Solid. I will Always Stand With The Truth, and By My People.” This statement was posted on August 2, 2025, through a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), where he appeared addressing a crowd in what seemed like a public gathering in Mombasa County.
Ali explained that his silence was not because he had abandoned the people, but because of his health struggles. Between December 2024 and May 2025, he underwent three surgeries on his knees two done in Kenya and one in India.
The long recovery period kept him away from the political spotlight. Now that he is back, he is making it clear that his loyalty lies with the people, not with any political party.
He stressed that he was elected as an independent candidate and that his strength comes from the voters who gave him their trust, not from any political boss.
In his speech, Ali touched on several national issues, especially police brutality and corruption. He pointed fingers at the Deputy Inspector General of Police, questioning the killing of a young man in custody.
He promised that he would not stay silent about such injustices and would continue to fight for accountability.
This has reminded many of his days as an investigative journalist when he used to expose wrongdoing and speak boldly against abuse of power. However, not everyone has welcomed his return warmly.
Some Kenyans on social media have brought up his past actions and questioned whether he truly stands for the people. They pointed out that he supported the controversial finance bill, which many say led to protests and deaths.
Others accuse him of playing both sides and only coming back now because the political mood is changing. Phrases like “Jicho Pevu kageuka kipofu” have appeared online, mocking him for allegedly turning a blind eye during critical times.
Despite the criticism, Mohammed Ali seems determined to move forward and face his opponents directly. He has made it clear that he will not back down or be silenced.
With the 2027 general elections getting closer, he appears to be getting ready for another political fight, this time with a stronger message focused on truth, justice, and the will of the people.
He has promised to stay true to his supporters and not be swayed by party politics or political threats. His health is still improving, and he hopes to walk fully by
December 2025, but mentally and politically, he seems ready to take on whatever comes next. Whether the people will believe in him again remains to be seen, but he has made it clear that he is back and ready to be heard.
