Wamuchomba hits out at Chris Kiptoo over missing Ksh20 million Githunguri funds amid Kefa Seda bribery scandal

Gathoni Wamuchomba, the MP for Githunguri, has exploded with fresh accusations that now firmly place Treasury Principal Secretary Chris Kiptoo at the centre of what appears to be a deliberate and well-organized looting of public funds.

Wamuchomba revealed that Ksh20 million, allocated in 2023 for fencing the Githunguri TVET Institute, mysteriously vanished under Kiptoo’s watch. The money was approved, documented, and budgeted yet the fencing never happened.

According to Wamuchomba, the only explanation is theft, and she believes Kiptoo orchestrated it from his powerful position within the Treasury.

Kiptoo Accused of Pocketing TVET Funds and Running Treasury Like His Private Bank

In a fiery statement on April 9, Wamuchomba boldly declared that she would willingly be arrested if her claims were false. But the details she gave were specific and damning. “Thieves of public money are holed up in the Treasury,” she said, making it clear she was pointing at Kiptoo himself.

She demanded that he produce evidence showing that the Ksh20 million reached the TVET Institute or face the wrath of the public.

With no fencing done and no explanation given, all fingers point to Kiptoo’s office.

This is not the first time Kiptoo’s name is being dragged through the mud. Recent reports reveal that Kefa Seda, a shady figure with no credible track record, allegedly paid Kiptoo a bribe of Ksh200 million in exchange for a strategic appointment in the ministry.

The appointment went through, and questions are now being asked about how many other positions and contracts Kiptoo has sold to the highest bidder. It paints a disturbing picture of a man who has turned a critical ministry into a cash register for personal gain.

Kiptoo’s Silence Screams Guilt as Public Pressure Builds

What’s more shocking is Kiptoo’s complete silence since Wamuchomba made her claims. No denial. No clarification. No press release. Not even a weak attempt to distract the public. The PS, once presented as a technocrat, now appears to be just another well-dressed thief, looting in daylight while Kenyans struggle under heavy taxes and skyrocketing prices. The Treasury is meant to protect the economy, not bleed it dry yet under Kiptoo’s leadership, it has become a symbol of betrayal and arrogance.

A Government of Intimidation and Fake Promises

Wamuchomba’s exposé comes just days after she was summoned by the DCI for urging Githunguri residents to skip President Ruto’s rally. She had accused the government of coming to the region with empty promises and dead projects.

She was later forced to appear before the DCI, where she claimed her life was in danger due to threats from political mercenaries. These tactics of intimidation reflect the desperation of a regime trying to silence voices exposing its rot and Chris Kiptoo seems to be a key player in that toxic system.

Former MP Also Accused of Interfering with Development Funds

Wamuchomba didn’t stop at Kiptoo. She also pointed fingers at her predecessor, accusing him of using his influence within the CDF board to block funds from reaching her constituency. It’s a coordinated attack on Githunguri’s development from both within and outside, and she is now standing alone against a system designed to punish honesty and reward looters like Kiptoo.

How Long Will Kiptoo Hide?

As the Treasury PS, Chris Kiptoo holds one of the most powerful positions in government. But instead of using it to safeguard public resources, he has turned it into a hub of corruption. From stealing Ksh20 million meant for TVET fencing to pocketing Ksh200 million in alleged bribes from Kefa Seda, Kiptoo has proven that he is not just incompetent he is dangerous.

His continued presence in office is an insult to struggling Kenyans, and every day he stays silent only confirms that he has something to hide.
