Oga Obinna, a well-known comedian, has been accused of serious allegations involving theft and fraud by a woman claiming to be his former partner.
Liz Kawela, the woman at the center of the controversy, filed a complaint at Gigiri Police Station, accusing Obinna of stealing Ksh 2.5 million in cash and her Range Rover, registration number KDP.
According to Liz, the incident has exposed what she describes as Obinna’s fake life.
According to an expose on X by known activist Cyprian Is Nyakundi, Liz stated that she and Obinna had been in a romantic relationship for a year, during which they lived together at her house in Kitisuru.
She also allowed his four children to live in her home. Liz claimed that she had been the one financially supporting him throughout their relationship and even provided the cars he often uses.
However, things reportedly took a turn for the worse when Obinna allegedly orchestrated a theft while they were out having lunch at a hotel in Kiserian.
Liz told the police that during this time, Obinna sent his personal assistant and a group of men to her house.
They allegedly stole cash, bedding, and other valuables amounting to Ksh 2.5 million.
The men also took away mobile phones belonging to her house help, presumably to prevent them from alerting her about the ongoing theft.
Liz expressed her frustration, calling Obinna a conman and emphasizing that he should be exposed for his actions.
Following the complaint, police arrested Obinna’s assistant and the men involved in the alleged theft.
However, they were later released on bond and are awaiting court proceedings.
Obinna himself has been instructed to appear at Gigiri Police Station to respond to the allegations.
Liz is determined to seek justice, accusing Obinna of taking advantage of her generosity and trust during their relationship.
This incident has sparked discussions about Obinna’s personal and financial conduct, with some questioning the authenticity of his public persona.
The truth about the events and Obinna’s role will likely come to light in the legal proceedings.
