Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi Promises To Give Youths Chance To Turn Around Kenya’s Economy

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has recognized the immense potential of young people to transform the global economy if given the right opportunities.

In a statement released on Monday to mark International Youth Day, Mudavadi highlighted the vital role that youth play in shaping the future, emphasizing that their active engagement with key issues can lead to significant positive change.

Mudavadi’s message was clear: young people are not just the leaders of tomorrow, but they are also essential contributors to the progress of today.

He pointed out that Kenyan youth, in particular, have consistently shown their capability to contribute to the nation’s prosperity.

According to Mudavadi, this commitment to the well-being of the country is a testament to the potential of the younger generation.

Citing data from the United Nations, Mudavadi noted that “half of the people on the planet are 30 or younger.”

This statistic underscores the power of the youth demographic as a driving force for change.

With such a large portion of the global population being young, the potential for innovation, creativity, and progress is enormous.

Mudavadi stressed that if these young individuals are empowered and given the tools to succeed, they can significantly impact not just their own futures, but the future of the world as a whole.

One area where this potential is particularly evident is in the creative industry.

Mudavadi highlighted the growing opportunities for Kenyan youth to earn money and build careers in creative fields.

With the support of global platforms like Meta’s family of apps, young creators in Kenya have the chance to showcase their talents on a world stage.

This, in turn, sets a high standard for creativity worldwide and positions Kenya as a hub for innovation and artistic expression.

Through initiatives that support content creation, young Kenyans can now monetize their work in over 30 languages, including Kiswahili.

This opens up new avenues for income generation and allows creators to reach a global audience.

However, Mudavadi reminded creators that in order to take advantage of these opportunities, they must adhere to Facebook’s Partner Monetisation Policies and Content Monetisation Policies, and must be at least 18 years old.

Additionally, creators looking to benefit from in-stream ads must meet specific eligibility requirements, such as having a minimum of 5,000 followers.

Mudavadi’s message on International Youth Day was a call to action for young people to harness their potential and drive change in their communities and beyond.

By seizing the opportunities available to them, particularly in the creative industry, Kenyan youth can not only achieve personal success but also contribute to the broader goal of national and global development.

The recognition of youth as key players in the future of the world economy is a step toward ensuring that they are supported and empowered to make meaningful contributions.
