Ezekiel Mutua Slams Pastor Kanyari Over Online Misconduct, Vows to Stop Him

Ezekiel Mutua has criticised Pastor Victor Kanyari for his controversial behaviour on TikTok, calling it a mockery of the Christian faith Mutua expressed disappointment over Kanyari’s actions and blamed such behaviour for the moral decline among youth.

He vowed to consult with relevant government authorities to address the televangelist’s misuse of digital platforms to promote inappropriate content.

Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) boss Ezekiel Mutua has criticised Pastor Victor Kanyari following his controversial actions and statements on TikTok. Ezekiel Mutua (r) calls out Pastor Kanyari (l) for degrading religious values with his recent social media antics.

Kanyari has been noted for using inappropriate language while interacting with fans on the social media platform.

Recently, he was presented with a pack of condoms during a church service by a member who advised him to heed the romantic interests of women but to do so safely.

Mutua denounced Kanyari’s behaviour as a travesty of religious faith and pledged to take measures to halt his actions.

Mutua argued that figures like Kanyari, who have strayed from their roles as moral guides, contribute to the moral drift among the youth.

That’s not a church he is running. It’s a mockery of the church and a disgrace to the Christian faith.

But he is a product of a sick society that we have become, a society that thrives on clout chasing and side shows, a society where morality is despised, good people are demonised, and thieves canonised.

This is why many youths are deviating from values. It seems like being morally upright, upholding values and being disciplined does not pay. We are setting a bad example, and jokers like Kanyari must not be allowed to promote this moral degradation,” said Mutua.

The former KFCB boss committed to reaching out to the appropriate authorities to explore possible actions against the preacher. He expressed concern over the misuse of digital platforms that could normalise harmful behaviour.

“I am talking to the relevant Government agencies to see what can be done, but allowing such misuse of digital platforms to normalise evil is something we should not celebrate or condone,” he added.

Mutua also explained the importance of treating religious matters with the utmost respect, stating that they should not be subject to irreverent or offensive jokes.

“Religious matters are sacrosanct and should not be the but for ungodly or obscene jokes. We must not lower matters of faith to this level; otherwise, we will be undermining a crucial pillar of human existence,” he continued.
